Roles:
[LOLLY LOZAPONE] – CAST: Sasha Carrera
[JERYL ST. CLAIR] – CAST: Rain Pryor
[MAX LOZAPONE]
70’s- 80’s, White. Retired literature professor with a quote for every occasion. Loves opera and intellect and his deceased wife – he has high standards and little patience. Recently, he is aware of the decline in his own mental faculties, he’d rather isolate than ask for help which poses a problem when his daughter, whom he loves but doesn’t understand, appears on his doorstep. LEAD
[ETHEL ST. CLAIR]
Black, 85 going on 29. The eternal party girl who’s left asking where’d everybody go? Sharp, sassy with a taste for sherry and adventure, she has no off switch and mourns her priest-daughter’s solitary life. LEAD
[FENETRE QUINN]
Female identifying or nonbinary. Can be PLUS SIZE. Emancipated or over 18 to play 16 year old teenager. Preferably non-white or multi-racial. Smart, observant old soul with an unusual imagination, she has never aspired to fit the typical teenage mold either physically or socially. Awkward in her own skin, she’s quite happy on her own and would rather study the properties of sugar than ride a bike. Despite the loss of her mother three years ago, she’s determined to define her life herself.. LEAD
[JAIME QUINN]
Male identifying 50s, any ethnicity. Dad, widower, former musician (ideally able to sing a little and strum a few chords on a guitar or keyboard), bar owner and avid biker. Despite deep loss — including a strained bond with his daughter — he’s held onto his cheeky boyish charm and a few small-town dreams. LEAD
[STERLING RAPHAEL]
Male identifying 40s any ethnicity. Impossibly handsome romance writer with a disarming innocence and sincerity. Fascinated by people’s stories, he can charm them out of even the most reticent introvert. LEAD
[DJ]
Female identifying or non-binary any ethnicity 18-25 Not your typical bluegrass type, positive and upbeat loves all things music and has big aspirations of her own. PRINCIPAL/DAY PLAYER
[RECTOR/PRESIDING PRIEST]
Male or Female. 60s-70s any ethnicity. Patient but pragmatic. Compassionate as long as it doesn’t disrupt the status quo, however there may be more wisdom in their decisions than first meets the eye. PRINCIPAL/DAY PLAYER
*[CIRCE] – APOLOGIES, THIS ROLE IS NO LONGER IN SCRIPT. If you have submitted we will either consider you for any alternate roles and/or keep you on file for future casting.
[WHITEY LEROUX]
70s-80s white. Think ZZ Top only bluegrass performer. He and his mountain boys were a big deal 30 years ago and they’re back on tour, as cocky as ever. PRINCIPAL/DAY PLAYER
[MOUNTAIN BOY]
Male identifying 70s-80s white. Bluegrass band member – Whitey LeRoux’s sidekick, chip off the same block. PRINCIPAL/DAY PLAYER
